Welcome to Hillbetty! My name is Hannah Mitchell, and I am an unrepentant fidgeter. I've found that I can channel the energy in my restless hands into crafting items that are both beautiful and functional. I am a career educator, researcher, and writer, but I'm also a passionate student of the natural world. I spend much of my spare time learning about herblore, folk art, and foraging. 

My family has lived in the hills and hollers of the southern Appalachian Mountains for generations. While I love to explore the wide world, meet new people, and learn new things, these old hills are my heart's home. I stand on the shoulders of the mountain women who came before me: strong, resourceful folk who handed down skills, knowledge, and grit as my inheritance.
